A new job and the journey ahead...

I've been doing a lot of research on new jobs. I really want to get into healthcare and not wait on tables anymore. I've been thinking about doing Phlebotomy. If I take the class from IHC they will pay me minimum wage to train and then once I'm done they will pay me $10.65 and give me benefits. I do have to complete so many hours otherwise I have to reimburse them, but they also guarantee you a job so it isn't really a problem. Plus I won't have to work full time which means I could still go to school and I would actually be making enough money to go! I just hope I can get the requirements done before the application is gone to get in. It also fulfills the "patient exposure" requirement for medical school which is a huge bonus!

I also want to have an excuse to get out of volunteering. It has been easy and nice to have time to study, but people can be so rude. Like just now the ICU is closed and no one is allowed back there. This lady comes up and tells me they are the mother of so-and-so and I explained to her the ICU was closed and NO ONE is allowed back there. She then says " well there isn't an exception for mothers?" and I again had to explain NO ONE is allowed back there. She then walks over to sit down and says how ridiculous it is she can't go in. Come on people, if we make an exception for you then we have to make one for all so I wouldn't count on it happening. Grrr!

My body is falling apart. I feel like I got hit by a car. I twisted my knee last week during a soccer game which has only seemed to get more uncomfortable and then last night at my game I believe I broke my big toe. It is super swollen, bruised and kills to bend it (or what little I can). Then my arm hurts and I'm not sure why. If I slept wrong or got hit into the wall at my game too hard or what. Dunno? I have to work 2 more days too. This should be fun....

Well I have a lot of thoughts on my plate right now about what I should do with the rest of my years which is causing me stress. I'm going to take up running since that is the only way I can clear my head. Plus it is good for me too, course I have to wait for my toe to get better. That might be a little hard... Ha ha

I should be in bed...

...but instead I'm writing how frustrated I am with life choices. How stupid and lazy I was in my younger years. Not that I'm old by any means, but yeah, you get it. For some reason all I could think about tonight was if I had taken Math 1060 right out of high school, I would not be in the tight situation I am in with school right now. I would have less pressure and stress of having to learn my math all over again. Today in the paper was an article about WSU raising tuition AGAIN! GRRRR!!! I could understand if I was getting better education and what-not but I'm not. They are pricing me right out of school! Greedy!!!

Don't get me wrong here....It has been nice living with my parents to help take care of Ollie, but it is getting to the point of I'm going insane. I feel like a "teen mom." I would really like to find a place of my own where Ollie has the space to crawl, walk, play as much as he wanted without the worry of the animals (and whatever comes with having animals), getting into something he shouldn't, etc. I'm worried Ollie has slept in our room for too long now that it is going to be a nightmare trying to get him to sleep in a separate room of his own. I'm sick of being treated like I'm not doing enough for my child or it isn't good enough.

I'm trying to do what I can for my child. I've been applying to jobs for 3 years now, over 100 applications or resume emailed, 3 interviews and no new job. I go to school which is super expensive to get myself in a field where I CAN get a job. A job that will actually pay for us to have things: home, food, car, clothes, a bulldog? :D

In summary you can't get a job without the education and experience which you can't get without having the job. You can't get the education unless you have a job that pays well to pay for the education. WTF?! How frustrating....

What is wrong with that?!

I'm really getting sick of the "you're too skinny" comments. Yes, I lost weight after I had Ollie. Yes, I didn't gain any of it back (YAY!). So what is wrong with that?! I've gone to my doctor who didn't say anything about my weight and how low it is. I work out, play soccer and when the weather gets nicer I'll be running outside and playing with Ollie therefore I'll probably be just as thin as I am now. I don't really care for junk food. You will rarely see me eat potato chips or candy because honestly I just don't crave it that often. I DO eat just like everyone else. I eat breakfast, sometimes lunch (unless I'm at work) and dinner every day. I don't have an eating disorder or anything like that so seriously get over it. Sincerely- me. :)
