The Dirty Dash

It was the most AWESOME thing ever! Seriously this is one of the funnest races! Our team was called the "Mud Bloods" and we dressed up in white shirts/tanks and bandannas (mostly red). It was a 6.2 mile race with something like 40 obstacles and all in the mud. The first obstacle was the mud pit and I'm guessing this was to just ensure you were caked in mud by the end. You jumped/climbed bales of hay, slid into mud holes, climbed through mud tunnels, climbed wooden walls or went under them, climbed a rope wall, rope swings, walked through a swamp and best of all the slop-n-slide! My sister however got super hurt on the slide and we ended up walking to the finish line as a team of course! I think she cracked some ribs or something like that. Yikes! Anyway here are some pictures...This is the finish line- you had to go through a gigantic mud pit to get there.

Can I have a job?

Today was my day off from work and I didn't have an overwhelming amount of homework so I decided to apply for jobs galore! Yes, they are all medical related and some of them are even jobs I've had interviews for in the past couples months so whoever they chose must have not worked out or switched jobs. I'm hoping for a second chance. My aunt also works for Mountain Medical and forwarded my resume to a doctor's office looking for a office assistant which would be great. Don't know too much about it but it would be great to get a job in something I actually want to do.

I hate going into interviews and everything they ask me I have to relate back to something at the restaurant instead of medical. Since they haven't worked in the food industry (at least most of them) they don't understand and they don't think I'm qualified. We'll see.

Okay, time for cleaning!

What's up

Well I have officially started my new volunteer job at McKay Dee. I give couples tours of the delivery, labor and postpartum floor and answer their questions. It is WAY better than the ICU even though some of the couples are interesting... It gives me so many memories of having Oliver and my time there. I just can't believe it has been 20 months ago! WOW!

I am running the Dirty Dash a week from tomorrow with my sister and her ex-in-laws (and friends). I'm REALLY excited and can't wait. It is going to be awesome! I also recently signed up to run a 5k "Night of the Running Dead" as a Huntsman Hometown Hero. I'm raising money for cancer research which is such a good cause. Not many people are helping out though so hopefully they will before my race!

I had another job interview for McKay Dee and I'm assuming I didn't get it because I haven't heard back. I'm okay with it though because if I had gotten the job I would have to work Christmas morning and that would be so sad with Ollie this year.

Wednesday we went to the Utah State Fair because Oliver has been on the cow and horse kick. We figured that would be the best thing for him to see them up close. He was hilarious! He got so excited! I bought him a mini horse pillow pet and my parents bought him a mickey mouse maraca and a horse to play with. Then we each got a shirt. We ate some carni-food. It was fun. Maybe we'll go again next year!
