X-mas

I was not even in the Christmas spirit this year. I tried to be for Ollie and everyone else, but I'm not sure how well I did. Christmas eve day I had to work and it was horrible. It was way slow and customers were so rude! I did, however, get off earlier than I thought. I came home and got ready and went to my mother-in-law's Christmas eve party where Andy and Ollie already were. We had dinner and opened presents. Then we headed over to my Uncle Dennis' house where my aunts, cousin and family were. I had dinner there too, but I also hadn't eaten all day either... :D We headed home for the night and I stayed up to help my mom wrap the left over presents.

Christmas morning came and I got up to feed Ollie around 7:30 and then Andy decided to lay with him afterward while we waited for my parents to get up. I decided to shower while we waited and when I got out everyone else went back to sleep. So I got ready and waited. Finally my dad got up and waited up with me. Around 9:15 Andy and Ollie got up then 10:30ish my mom got up. We opened presents where Ollie got a ton.

My sister and her kids and my brother showed up for the traditional Christmas day breakfast. I haven't seen my brother in years. He is always MIA so it was good to see him. We opened presents after we ate and the kids played with their toys for a little bit. Later we went to Andy's mom's house to open presents. Ollie fell asleep as soon as Andy's sister arrived so we had to wait for him to wake up to open presents. Ollie got opening the presents better the more the day went on. He got even more toys.

Blowing off

Today was the worst day at work. I had a total of 6 tables and 3 of them stiffed me because they were too cheap to eat out. My first table was a tweaker, my second table thought he was too good to tip because he works at Costco and my third table takes the cake for wanting to split a meal between 3 adults. I mean, if you can't afford to get an entree for everyone and tip your server who makes $2.75 an hour then don't eat out! Because guess what? We DO remember you!

The year is almost over and honestly I can't wait. I've personally had a rough year and I'm only hoping for a better one. Or maybe begging for a better one?! I've been thinking about all the things I would love to achieve, go and do, but I'm just not sure how much it is in the cards. I would love to go to Colorado again once summer comes. Show Ollie where his parents hung out and things we loved to do there. I love Colorado for the people, the activities, the food and the fact it isn't Utah! I left my heart there...

On another note...Ollie has finally decided to crawl and he also discovered clapping. We were watching Little Einsteins and we were clapping with the characters and now Ollie likes to applaud himself. It's actually quite funny. We also got a new car seat/booster seat and he used it for the first time today. He laughed the first 5 minutes he was so excited and...he was clapping. He is such a character! He is growing so fast. I can't believe in January I gave birth to him a year ago. It seems just like yesterday. What an amazing experience it was and the amazing baby I "made." LOL

I'm going to do my crafts

Looking through a catalog I saw this really good quote 'Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe and stronger than you seem and smarter than you think." So I want to make a wooden board to put it on to hang on my wall to help me remember to believe in myself which is something I'm having a major problem with. Second project would be for Ollie. When I was little I had a bear mat that had a zipper, mirror, buttons, shoelaces, etc and it was like a learning how to get ready kind of thing. I want to make Ollie something like it, but maybe a monster since that's his nickname. Third, would be my picture purse which I think would be cool if I can figure out how to make what I want. Now whether I have the time to do these things is another question. We'll see. I hope I find some! :)

Christmas is just a couple weeks away. I only have 1 person left to shop for. I've done pretty good this year by starting early. Makes me less stress than I already am.

Wow...I'm super tired....

Hello 25

This past Veterans Day I turned a quarter of a decade old. Woohoo! I didn't do anything too exciting. The day of my actual birthday I went to work and then volunteered (on the slowest night) at the hospital, came home and went to bed. Friday after I went to school, to get a flu shot and work I met my family at Tepanyaki. My cousin and her significant other have their birthdays on the 10th & 11th so we decided to celebrate together which is always fun! Ollie was the biggest hit though as always! I got a lot of calls/texts and messages on Facebook to wish me happy birthday. It was a surprising amount and it was nice to feel loved for one year. :D

I usually really hate my birthday. I avoid it like the plague. Sadly I would like to do something fun next year because it is on a Friday and it is the 11/11/11. How cool, huh?! But I don't know, we'll see.

Things I received were money, new jeans, a new shirt, an owl rug and wall decoration, car mats, car emergency kit, new pandora charms, lotion, bubble bath (yummy smellin') and a book. I don't think I missed anything else. Fun stuff.

I have 3 weeks left of school which I'm excited to say. I should be doing some serious studying right now because I have an exam tomorrow/Tuesday. So more to come later....

Busy Halloween week

Our Lil Monster
We're dressed 70's style
Our pumpkins (owl and fire face)

Today is the official Halloween but since it is Sunday then everyone had to celebrate it on Saturday. I'm going to go a little out of order here. Friday we went to the Jones' Halloween party and hung out, had yummy food, saw everyone. Saturday we went and got Ollie's picture taken in his costume and then went home and carved pumpkins. We then dressed up and took Ollie to see his grandma Mitzi and then we made a few rounds to neighbors we knew really well and hadn't seen in forever. Some people were so surprised to see us and they were excited we came by which made us feel good. In the spirit of Halloween I made cookies that looked like fingers and that turned out awesome!

Friday I took the day off of work to go to a medical workshop up at McKay Dee which was pretty cool. We were split up into 4 groups and went to "classes" that were (1) labor and delivery (2) Radiology, (3) Ultrasound and (4) Patient interviews. So in labor and delivery we got to deliver fake babies on a model that OB/GYN's use to practice certain procedures on, play out emergency scenarios, etc. Ultrasound they had an actual patient who was 31 weeks along and we got to play with the ultrasound machine on her belly. Radiology we looked at x-rays, CTs, etc and case scenarios. Patient interviews we played doctor/patient and interviewed each other....not that exciting... Then we had lunch with some doctors. At our table we had an OB/GYN from my doctor's office, but sadly this girl next to me sat and talked about herself the majority of the time when we had the opportunity to ask the doctor questions, which pissed me off. Every group has one though, right? Then we listened to a guest speaker who was a little odd.

I've had a migraine for 3 days now which sucks obviously. Sadly I'm beginning to live with headaches since I can't seem to go a day without one. I take Tylenol or whatever which helps sometimes. I may have to go to the doctor though if it gets worse. I have "white outs" where all I have white blurry vision which is a sign I'm going to have a migraine any second. It's awesome....NOT!

In other news...we're being harassed by a Ogden cop. I got pulled over the week before we bought the LR3 and he told me I was speeding down 2 different roads while I knew he was behind me. Makes a lot of sense huh? Then Andy inherited the Xterra and has gotten pulled 3 times now. It's been under a month. The bad thing is too is the cop lives right down the street from us. He has pulled Andy over for going 2 mph over the speed limit, 4 mph the speed limit and going around a corner too fast in which he cut into the other lane. Very stupid reasons! Plus he has never given us a ticket for anything. I'm going to file a formal complaint with OPD tomorrow in case he decides one day to give us a ticket. And if the harassment doesn't stop then it might get ugly.

Trying something different

Tonight while I was volunteering at the hospital I studied for 2 hour straight which was horrible! I never want to look at arteries or veins ever again. Anyways...after studying I started reading magazines since tonight was the SLOWEST night in the ICU. I ran across a website for moms made by moms. I joined the site tonight and it is pretty cool. Articles are written by members of the site (with approval from the editor) about pretty much anything. There are also different age based articles so you don't have to sit and look at everything if it doesn't pertain to you. I sat and read a couple of articles. It is nice to know that some ladies my age are feeling the same way about life. There are just certain things I can't really talk to anyone about because they just weren't in that situation or had that experience which is why I'm so drawn to this website. I'm hoping to write my own article pretty soon- see what kind of response I get.

Other things...we finally bought Ollie a Halloween costume. Super exciting! He is going to be a monster since we always call him "Ollie monster." However, Andy and I have not chosen a costume yet....

We tried selling some of Ollie's old stuff that we don't want to hold on to and we thought Kid to Kid would be a good idea, but apparently not. We tried selling a bathtub, Bumbo chair with the tray and some clothes. They were willing to give us $11 for the bathtub and Bumbo chair with the tray which all together retails for almost $100. So I said no. We left the clothes to see what they'd give us because I had already let Lauren and Lindsay go through them and get what they wanted. I got a call and they took a "couple" of things and we have $8.50 waiting for us along with the clothes they didn't want to buy. I have moved everything to KSL, no bites yet though. I'll try amazon next if nothing sells.

New!!

We bought a new car! It's a 2005 silver Land Rover LR3. I absolutely love it! I wanted the green one, but after driving it we could tell there was something seriously wrong with it! The dealership had this one for a tiny bit more money, but less miles so we just got it. We've been pretty happy with it so far.

Ollie has been sick for 3 weeks now. It started out as the common cold with congestion, cough and sneezing then it progressed into projectile vomiting formula. He has been to the doctor twice now and was put on antibiotics. Last night he seemed like he was doing better, he had formula all day and was keeping it down...well...until last night. Andy was taking him downstairs and as he passed through the kitchen Ollie projectile vomited 3 times all over himself, Andy and the kitchen floor. It was SO sad and gross. All you soon-to-be-moms and new moms can't wait, right? Poor little guy...

We still haven't chosen Halloween costumes or carved pumpkins this year which bums me out. I LOVE Halloween, it's my favorite holiday and we haven't really done anything for it. I'm hoping next weekend (at the latest) we can carve pumpkins because it is so fun and especially with Ollie- he'll probably think it is cool!

rambling anger (kinda explicit)

More and more I'm believe that karma really is a bitch. And this whole theory about what goes around comes around isn't true either- at least in the past week/month/year that's what has been proven. I'm working harder and more and seem to be having less money and more stress. I REALLY hate my job. Two of the managers seem to be after me for whatever reason and making more stressed out. Customers have been horrible too. I had this lady yesterday scream across the room (her ass barely hit the seat) yelling that she needed a fresh water pitcher while I was in the middle of taking my table's order (that sat down before them). She then proceeded to go INTO the kitchen to ask someone else for water. She then threatened my job..."I'm going to call Tony..." blah blah blah! Go for it 'cause he doesn't give a crap either!

Comments are made, actions are taken, lies are told and manipulation has happened which angers me. Makes me wonder how I ended up here- in this place- with the relationships around me. Maybe I'm not as nice as a person as I think or there is something that people don't like about my personality. I'm not going to change who I am, because I'm not that kind of person. I don't change into who people think I should be. I'm not going to copy someone else. I'm going to stand up for myself and people who try and break up relationships need to go to hell. 'nough said!

Anyways...I had my first lab quiz today and I think I only missed 2 out of 12 if that. One of the questions wasn't stated very well and the student instructors weren't even sure on what answer they wanted to accept so we'll see. I also went to my volunteer training yesterday and I start my hours tomorrow night. I walked around the ICU and met a couple of the nurses which I don't think are even going to be on my shift but oh well. The lady that trained me was nice, but she had a memory like Dori (from Finding Nemo). Hopefully she gave me enough information to do what I need to do. I'm glad to start though and have some time to study as well. I'm hoping down the line this will get me a job at IHC.

One year and still going....

Andy and I celebrated our first year anniversary of being married. I took the day off of work and we took Ollie to The Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy. It was actually pretty cool and he loved it! We bought him an orange octopus. That way he could chew on all 8 legs....LOL

My mom then volunteered to babysit so we could go out to dinner alone which was nice. We went to Tepanyaki and we didn't even have to wait to be seated. We sat down with 3 other couples and ordered. There was another couple our age at the other end of the table and the other guy looked extremely familiar but we couldn't place him. We knew we didn't go to school with him and then it dawned on me! When Andy and I went on our FIRST date it was a double date and it was my friend's boyfriend (back then)! It was crazy that we were there celebrating our first anniversary and we were having dinner with the guy we had our first date with! Small world!

I started my first day of school that following Monday. I am in a Human Anatomy class which requires you to go to cadaver lab. I saw my first deceased individual on Wednesday which was weird. I think it'll take some time getting used to.

I also start volunteering this upcoming week. I'm doing it at McKay Dee in the ICU. I think it is going to be tough but good experience at the same time.

Ollie has 2 teeth! It's so funny to watch him try and suck on them. He is getting so big! He is over 16 lbs now and still growing!

Life is interesting

There has been so many ups and downs in our lives lately. One thing makes you think that things are going our way and the next thing crushes you.

Andy got surgery on his foot last October to take out some dead bone and put in some synthetic junk. And yes, I can say junk because that's apparently what it is. Andy hurts worse now than before the surgery so he goes to the doctor to see why. He can only go to a doctor at the clinic because that is all his insurance will cover (surgery was written off by the hospital). He was told that the synthetic junk didn't take and his foot isn't really healing like it should and they also said they think that his MRSA is still there too. Now the surgeon that did his surgery REFUSES to see him and fix it. My advice don't ever go to Dr. Bruse. He is an ASS!

Ollie has it the best out of anyone. He just got over a sinus infection and now has 2 teeth coming in. Other than that though he has been pretty happy.

I got a call to interview at McKay Dee for a volunteering position. I got tested for drugs and disease which was super exciting....I chose to work in the ICU which I hope I don't regret. I think it will be good experience so I'm pretty excited to start. I also start school on Monday which is just my Human Anatomy class. I'm also take Chemistry which I'm not too excited about, but I'll get through it.

I also ran into a long lost [best] friend of mine from elementary. Talking to her made me miss the friendship(s) I had when I was younger. She moved away in 5th grade? and it got to the point where our parents got sick of driving us to the other end of town...literally. We got along really well though and it made my day running into her. I hope we can start hanging out and have our friendship back.

I wish I could explain what has been bothering me a lot lately. It is interesting how things turned out in relationships between others and myself. I never thought I would be in this position for the second time. Without going into detail...I wish I could be close to the people I once was, but at the same time maybe they are the ones not wanting that and therefore I'm here "alone." It seems I am stuck between a rock and a hard place with no clue on how to get out.

Friday is our first year anniversary of being hitched. We don't really have any plans yet, but I did take the day off. We're taking Ollie with us so we were thinking swimming or the aquarium in Sandy. We are planning on using our free vacation to celebrate it whenever we go on that. It is crazy to think in October we will have been together for 8 years. How time flies....

Goodbye July...you'll be missed....

July is over which makes me pretty sad. I love July because there is tons to do and it's such nice weather. For July 24th weekend Andy and I had Friday, Saturday and Sunday off so we decided to take Ollie to the zoo. My parents wanted to go too so we all got to go melt in the heat. It was pretty fun since I haven't been there since elementary school so it seemed new to me. Sadly though, they did have some construction going on so some parts were closed and it was so hot that the animals were hiding in cold spots and/or sleeping. We did see some fun animals though.

On July 24th we took Ollie to the Ogden Pioneer Day Parade in Downtown O-town. It was supposed to be 3 hours long so we ended up staying for a little over an hour which was enough. Sadly we didn't get to see a lot of the cool floats, but Ollie was hungry so when you gotta feed your little one you better go! He enjoyed the horses at least. :D

We finished out the month celebrating my dad's birthday. We went to Maddox which was SO GOOD! It was Andy, Ollie, me, my parents, my uncle Dennis and his g/f Donna, my aunt edith and her date Brent. Our waitress wasn't the best though. We got our salads before our drinks, our rolls after we got done eating our entrees (we asked for before our dinner) and she stuck a plate in front of me while Ollie was sitting on my lap. Which leads me to tell you he reached for the food, got it on him and starting crying. He hates the fact something was on him. It was funny and sad at the same time. Then after that he was just grumpy and needed to sleep.

Summer

Lots of things happened in the past couple weeks. Andy went to compete in Kansas for the National Machining competition and placed 7th out of 70 which was freaking awesome! I'm so proud of him! My friend Lauren got married on the last Saturday of June and we are so excited for them. The wedding was fun and it turned out so well.

I'm glad to see summer finally showed up. July is my favorite month of all. I love all the BBQs, hot weather, activities and hanging out outside. To start of this July we had a couple of BBQs with the family. I had Tuesday off from work so my mom and I decided to take Ollie swimming for the first time. He absolutely loved it. All these little kids were really interested in him too. It was so cute. The water was really cold, but Ollie didn't seem to care.

My friend Jenny and I went to the SLC farmer's market which was fun. We didn't really buy anything, but it was still cool to go. We also went to Gateway shopping and I bought Ollie the cutest jacket for this fall/winter. I can't for him to wear it! Andy and I are going to go to the farmer's market in Ogden this Saturday. I've never been so I'm excited. We were going to go to a concert, but it was cancelled which we were bummed. It was Sublime with Rome & The Dirty Heads. Sad....I'm hoping to do more fun things so we'll see what we can find to do!

Many things happening

Today was the first time I have called in sick to work. I was feeling pretty bad all week and yesterday at work it hit me. I barely made it home without getting sick. I slept pretty much all night and all day with a few moments of watching the World Cup.

Speaking of which...USA totally got screwed. That goal on the 86th minute should have counted especially since the ref couldn't give a reason why it didn't count. Then my team Germany loses! WHAT THE HECK! They kicked azz their first game and then lose? That's just wrong... My co-worker/friend have been doing $5 bets on the games and every time we end in a tie. There is our luck for ya!

Andy leaves for Kansas in a couple days for a week for his National Machining competition. I'm not sure what I'll do without him here. At least I'll have Ollie to sleep with. :D Good Luck Andyness!!

My BFF Lauren is getting married next weekend. I'm super happy for them both. They are the cutest couple and are great for each other. I'm pretty excited, except I'm not as tan as I need to be for the bridesmaid dress so here is to hoping for time to tan before then! I had Lauren's bridal shower at my house and it was pretty fun. Good food and people I haven't seen in forever!

My little angel, Ollie is 5 months. He started a new daycare this week. So far so good and we hope it stays that way.

We have a racoon running among our block. It is kinda scary. He only comes out at night and we have 2 outdoor cats and he had one of them cornered tonight. They are mean and it scares me to let my dog go out at night to pee in fear he'll get attacked. We've caught him multiple times on our deck and a couple times in our garage. We're going to trap the sucker and take him out in the wilderness. That way everyone is happy!

I'm hoping I can start studying more. I need to go take the accuplacer math test in order to start taking some classes required for medical school. I think it is stupid that I've already taken 1050 and yet if I don't pass this accuplacer I have to start all over which is BS. I've already signed up for chemistry and human anatomy. Woo hoo! I'm hoping I won't get too stressed out. Only time will tell....

Our big journey....

Ollie is 4 months old. He finally gets to try eating solid foods so Ollie and I bought some rice cereal, apples, bananas and carrots. We'll see how he likes them soon enough! He is getting so big. He has such a great personality and so sweet. He loves to talk and be tickled.

Andy is working for a machining company and he absolutely loves it. He leaves in a month to compete in the national machining competition in Nebraska. I'm hoping the tornados go away before then. :/

I have committed to go back to school in the fall. I'm going to go back to take some classes over the course of a year. Then I'm going to attempt the MCAT to get into medical school. I'd love to get into University of Utah medical school. It'll be a lof of work and money, but it'll be worth it in the end. I haven't quite chosen a specific "speciality" but I figure I have a while to think about it. I'm actually really excited about it so wish me luck! :D

Going Crazy...

I got re-accepted to WSU which honestly I never thought I would do because I had such a horrible experience there when I got my BS in Psychology. On the other hand it is the smartest place to go because it is close to my home. I keep thinking about it and it makes me feel crazy. Crazy that I didn't do this in the first place and crazy I am really thinking about doing it this time. I go talk to an advisor about classes and whatnot next week so we'll see how it goes.

I've been applying to jobs a lot too and no interviews. The job market is horrible. I have a BS in Psychology and I can't even get a job that only requires a high school diploma. A while back I was being considered for a job, but they gave it to someone else. Now it is back up so I re-applied and I probably won't get it but I applied for kicks and giggles I guess.

Lots of things are happening this Spring/Summer. Andy turns the big "26" tomorrow (Yahoo!), my BFF Lauren is graduating from Nursing school on Thursday and then she is getting married! YAY! Andy and I are going on a free vacation somewhere (probably Cali) and I'm hoping to actually do some really fun things this summer. You never know, it might be my last if I go back to school.

And what about Ollie? Ollie is getting SO big. He is the happiest baby. We just LOVE him to pieces.

I've been sick for 10 days now. I've had a sore throat, cough, running nose, stuffy nose, watery eyes, headache, you name it! I stayed up until almost 2am last night coughing and keeping everyone awake. So I gave in and went to the doctor. She said I probably have a secondary bacterial infection (?), I think, from not being able to fully get rid of my cold. She gave me some cough syrup that I can take night or day and some antibiotics. Hopefully I'll get better because it is hard keeping my distance from Ollie. Although I haven't gotten anyone sick! :D Go me!

GO BIG or GO HOME

This is going to have to be my new motto for the year. I'm getting pretty serious about going back to school because I've been doing my current job way too long. Andy & I have discussed it a little bit and he will fully support anything I choose to do. I suddenly got hit in the head apparently with the "get a move on" bat. I've already checked into schools, programs and grants/financial aid/scholarships. I kind of have an idea on what I might want to do so I think I might try calling some people/places to see who I need to talk to about going back. I'm keeping a secret on what I'm going to go into because I think a lot of jaws might drop once I finally commit to it. :D

Time Flies

We can't believe Ollie is 3 months old today! He is getting so big! He has started sleeping for most of the night which has been AWESOME! Andy finally started his job which he seems to really like. He won state at his machining competition and now will head to nationals at the end of June in Kansas City. I'm still applying like crazy for a new job, hoping something will work out. I've started learning Spanish to make myself more valuable. XXXX Crossing my fingers XXXX

Andy won us a vacation to anywhere in the US. They pay for our airfare and hotel. We are thinking about going to Seattle and driving up to Canada for a day. I'm very artsy so I think I would enjoy it. Then again, I wouldn't mind going somewhere really warm and sitting on a beach...we'll see. I hope to go for our one year anniversary and re-do our honeymoon since it turned out so bad. :/

How things have changed....

Since the beginning of summer 2009 I have felt like my life has turned upside down. I'm not sure what started it all or why. It has made me uncomfortable, upset at times, alone other times, unsure of myself and what I should do. I feel like I really didn't change and I can't think of anything I did to make anyone change their attitude towards me. All I can do is hope one day things will be happy, fabulous and satisfying....

The 8 Week Adventure

Ollie is 8 weeks today and he is getting sooooo big. We finally found a formula he actually tolerates and he is in good health. He smiles and has the cutest toothless grin. He hasn't figured out how to laugh, but he is trying along with talking. He isn't sleeping through the night yet which isn't great for us, but he usually eats ever 3-4 hours and back to sleep he goes.

Having him around is a huge change, but a great one. He makes everyone so happy which some people in my life (including me) really need. He went to daycare for the first time today. I was a little worried that he might send the babysitter over the edge if he started screaming because he was unsure of his surroundings but he was really good. He'll start going 4 days a week so I can go back to work and Andy can concentrate on school and hopefully start his new job.

Andy finally got hired to a machining job but the company is taking their sweet time giving him any kind of schedule. It sucks because he'd really like to start and we could use the extra income. He is still going to school which I guess he can just get further on while he isn't working....

I am returning to work for 4 days a week with a few extra shifts every once in a while. I've been really considering going back to school. I'm just really unsure of what for. Do I go for a Master's? Or Ph.D? Or just go to one of these tech schools and go for medical coding or assisting? Or both? I hate the fact I spent 5 years getting a Bachelor's degree and have no job. I've been spending the majority of my time at home applying to jobs with IHC. I almost had one too, but didn't.

I've decided to learn Spanish. It will make me more valuable in the job market and help me get a job since most jobs ask that you are bi-lingual. I ordered Rosetta Stone because it was 60% off which was a steal! Whoo hoo!

I'd like to start back playing soccer, but haven't found the time nor have the money to start the team back up. Plus I need a lot more players. Hoping by next month I can have some sort of schedule where soccer can be in it. I miss it TOO much.

He is finally here!

January 18th, 2010 I went to my weekly doctor's appointment and my doctor said I was doing extremely well so she could strip my membranes and I could go into labor then or in a few days. Andy and I thought it would be best so that Dr. Lister would deliver our baby since we had been going to her all this time. My water didn't break...right away. We drove home, I ate a bowl of cereal and decided to check my Facebook and the next thing I know my water broke!

Andy was downstairs and I was yelling for him and he didn't respond. Finally 5 minutes later he comes up stairs to find me with my water broke. We pack whatever else was left to pack and away to the hospital we went. We got to McKay Dee at 11:30ish and they got me set up in a room. I got hooked up and my parents, Andy's mom and sister and my aunt Edith came and hung out with Andy and I until it was time to push. 3 hours of pushing and still no baby was coming so my doctor decided to take it to the next step...a vacuum. Risky, but better than a C-section. My doctor and I really didn't want to do a C-section since I was so close and worked too hard. With the vacuum you only get 3 chances and thankfully he came out right after the second chance.

He came out 20 inches, 6 lbs 8 oz and we named him Oliver Andrew. Oliver coming from my middle name Olive (after my grandma) and Andrew being his father's name which is kind of a tradition in their family.

Sadly, Oliver had a rough start. First the vacuum used to get him out made a BIG circle sore on his head. Then he had Jaundice partially due to using the vacuum on him. He also might have a tethered spinal cord which he gets checked next month. We are hoping he doesn't because we don't want our little guy to go through major surgery.

We are so happy he is here though. We love him to death and he is so handsome!

Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010

May this year be better than the last! Here are some of the GREAT times of 2009...

We brought in 2009 with friends at Port O'Call. (Our men not pictured).

I graduated from WSU with a bachelors degree in Psychology. It was the best day ever because it was the last day I'd have to deal with WSU.

Casie turned 24 in May and it turned into a very interesting night, but I leave that story for Casie to share. It was fun while it lasted though!

In June, Andy and I found out we were going to be parents. At first we were scared how everyone would take it, but we were so happy. We were glad the majority of people were also excited for us.

For July 24th Andy, my parents and I went to the rodeo. It was SUPER hot, but fun none the less.

On August 20th Andy and I finally got married after being engaged for over 3+ years (and together for 7 years). We got married in Layton at Chantilly Mansion. My bridemaids was Lauren, Ashley, Annalee, Shelby and Makinley. Andy's groomsmen were Danny, John and Jim. Our colors were orange, yellow and red. The day went by so fast, but it was amazing. Everyone seemed to have a good time and the food was really good. I ate leftovers all the way to SLC. He He...

Andy and I had always wanted to go to NYC so for our honeymoon we went. It was nice to see and visit, but we are in no rush to go back....ever.

For Halloween, we carved pumpkins with our friends and without friends. I did my best work this year with the teeth. Cracks me up... Andy went for scary and very difficult level which he perfected.
For my 24th birthday Andy made me a cake and it was TOO good. I ate WAY too much of it. It was so very sweet of him especially since I got stuck at work until 5 on my birthday which wasn't cool. We also went out to Tepanyaki with my parents, aunt, cousin Talona and Amanda. Great company, food and birthday!

Christmas was good. We had a friend party at Lindsey's where we made gingerbread houses and ornaments. We went to Andy's mom's house for Christmas eve and afterwards to my uncle Dennis'. Christmas morning my sister and family came down from Logan for breakfast. It was so nice to have them around! Then Andy and I went back to his mom's to open presents and then to his aunt's (dad's side) to spend some time with his dad, aunt, grandma and cousin. Then closed out the New Year by spending some time with Richard and Jenna (and family) while they were home for Christmas.

We'd like to thank everyone who made good memories for us this year. We wish everyone the best in 2010!
